The President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Dr. Benedict Oramah, has reiterated the Bank’s support for Cote d’Ivoire’s effort to transform its export sector.
Speaking when he led an Afreximbank delegation on a visit to the Ivoirian Minister of Budget, Abdourahmane Cisse, in his office in Abidjan, the President said that the Bank shared Cote d’Ivoire’s vision of deepened partnership with the Bank towards the transformation of the economy.
He identified areas of intervention by the Bank to include facilitating Cote d’Ivoire’s integration into the global cashew value chain, supporting industrial development through financing of the construction of industrial parks, supporting the creation of export trading companies, and facilitating increased cocoa production through the issuance of cocoa bonds.
Earlier, Mr. Cisse welcomed the delegation and announced that Cote d’Ivoire was already taking action to follow its rights under the share offer made to shareholders.
Accompanying the President on the visit were Kanayo Awani, Director, Trade Finance and Branches; Obi Emekekwue, Head, External Communications; and Jean-Christian Koudou, Manager, Business Development (French West Africa).
